If food were tax free and all other goods taxed at 200%, I'm wondering if virtually everything made would be food. Edible clothes, edible furniture, edible electronics (they're making great strides with semiconducting polymers, perhaps an edible version could be made), not to mention edible robot vacuum cleaners (I think we could do it)!
If fact, why not edible houses? Perhaps the witch in Hansel and Gretal lived under such a regime and that was why her house was made of candy!
